Why People are Drawn to LED Lights

Commercial christmas lighting

In the past several years, Led lights have taken off as an alternative to traditional white Christmas lights. Why is LED popular? Although it tends to cost more, LED string lights use up only 10 percent of the energy that traditional bulbs do, allowing people to either save a lot of money on their energy bills, or use the same energy budget and be able to put up a lot more lights. They come with break resistant plastic bulbs that do not generate much heat, making them safer than conventional Christmas lights as well.

How much money would the average person spend on LED white Christmas lights? One strand of 50 LED lights would cost about sixty cents for the entire season. If you were to run 10 strands, then, you would only be spending about six dollars, a huge savings over traditional bulb running, as you probably know from experience.

LED lights are also a distinctive light source. Many people were drawn to LED lights when they first came out not because of the price savings, but because they have smaller bulbs and the colors are intense, making for an interesting contrast even if paired with more traditional bulbs.

Although white Christmas lights are often the standard purchase option, LEDs can also be used as everyday outdoor lighting options to keep pathways and other areas lit enough for walking.

I like mixing traditional and LED. I think traditional just make me happy because of all the memories but LED are nice as complementary options.
