The Right Materials for Shirts and Tote Bags

Textiles is a massive industry around the world, and everyone needs clothes to wear, ranging from work uniforms to everyday clothing like a T shirt to or promo T shirts to jeans and coats. But cotton, nylon, and other fabrics can be used for other jobs too, and compressed towels, a promotional tote bag, and more can be made with raw textile materials today. There is plenty of demand for promotional T-shirts, a promotional tote bag, or any other bags used for carrying groceries and goods to replace plastic bags. Recently, plastic bags have come under heavy scrutiny for their role in polluting the natural world, and there is a push to reduce their use in favor of a compressed tote bag of various models instead. This can do a lot of good for the environment and is also more convenient for shoppers in some ways. Meanwhile, T-shirts are a major part of American textiles and the clothing industry today, and T-shirt printing services or heat presses are popular for consumers.

A Promotional Tote Bag

What is the allure of using a promotional tote bag or nylon bags in place of plastic ones? The problem is that plastic bags are a major source of pollution on the ground and in the world’s oceans, and plastic bag production is enormous. The bad news is that this harms the natural environment, since plastic bags do not biodegrade at all. What is worse, once these bags get in the ocean, marine animals often mistake them for jellyfish and eat them, and these bags will either suffocate them or build up in their stomach, which eventually starves them. Billion of such bags are used every year, but if a promotional tote bag or other nylon and cotton bags are used instead, this can prevent many millions of plastic bags from ending up in landfills or the world’s oceans. Just one person using a promotional tote bag for their grocery shopping can save hundreds of plastic bags from being used every year, and if enough Americans are doing this across the nation, the number grows exponentially, and this is good news for wildlife preservation. A promotional tote bag may be more practical than a plastic bag, anyway; such a bag is tougher and does not rip or split as easily, and these bags can can carry heavy items like milk jugs without any trouble. They may also do a better job of trapping heat or cold for temperature-sensitive grocery items, making them even more appealing to consumers today.

Shirts

Today’s T-shirts are often made from cotton, and there is plenty of that to go around. Today, cotton is grown in 85 countries and exported by 55 of them, and this makes for plenty of textiles materials. Such shirts are popular around the world, and in the United States, statistics show just how popular shirts are. 70% of men and 54% of women own more than 10 T-shirts in their wardrobe, and in 2012, an examination of sales by product category showed that wearable items were the biggest sellers, including T-shirts, golf shirts, and jackets. These wearables made up an impressive 28.9% of all product sales. These shirts may be used for everyday wear and may be a plain color or have patterns or visuals on them, and graphic T-shirts are popular among children and adults alike. In some cases, this means that promotional shirts are worn. At events or in stores, for example, staff and volunteers may wear shirts whose graphics promote such events as a store opening, a fundraiser, a charity motorcycle race, or a live musical concert, and volunteers and staff members often keep these shirts after an event.

Meanwhile, plain T-shirts can also be customized; that is, a heat press transfer allows a consumer to put a graphic or a logo onto a shirt with simple heat and pressure. A heat press will have two plates that, when pressed together, makes this possible. A consumer puts the article of clothing and the logo inside the two plates, activated the machine and adjusts the settings as needed, and only a moment or two is needed for the process to be complete. Jeans and hats can also have this done.
