Philadelphia has been in the spotlight lately, and no it’s not because of the raging feud between between South Philly cast members Natalie Guercio and Natalie DiDonato from VH1’s hit reality series Mob Wives. No, this is far bigger news.
In case you haven’t heard, the Pope — as in THE head of the Catholic Church — is coming to town in September 26 and 27, and the city is in frenzy in order to prepare for this arrival.
While some homeowners and renters are busy listing their residences as a place to crash for those who are visiting the City of Brotherly Love in hopes of seeing the Pope, one young newlywed couple has been hard at work, diligently created custom designed tee shirts out their apartments.
These aren’t just any ol’ promo t shirts, however. These are promotional tshirts specifically designed for the pontiff’s visit. And what better way to rock your papal pride than to sport custom print tees made in his image?
Newlywed couple Michael and Ally Tandarich, 22 and 21, felt that designing the custom designed tee shirts would be the perfect way to support and give back to the Catholic community, as well as continue to build anticipation and excitement around the Pope’s visit. Besides, it gives attendees something unique to wear to the experience.
“We wanted to make them stand out from other brands that were going to be at the event,” Michael said in regards the quality printed t shirts. “We wanted them to look like Philadelphia and the Pope.”
Both Michael and his wife Ally are active members of the Catholic community and felt the t shirts also signify how influential and involved Catholic youths are in their communities.
“You’d be surprised at how many young people are involved in Catholicism,” he said. “I’m expecting a lot of youth will be there to see the Pope.”
