No special day is complete without professional wedding photo editing services of some kind, but for one Atlanta family the results were truly awe-inspiring. Anna Bozman Thompson and her long-time boyfriend now husband, Travis Thompson got married in October. It might have been the happiest day of their lives and it came just months removed from what was certainly the most devastating. In May the couples eldest child, Lake Thompson, passed away after a five year fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia just weeks before his ninth birthday, according to the health stories news source DailyMail.uk.
All Internet-connected users share over 1.8 billion photos each day, 70 million on Instagram alone, some are obviously more special than others. As a way to pay tribute to the deceased son the Thompson’s wedding photographer, Brandy Angel, edited Lake’s image into a truly unique and touching family photo with his parents and two other surviving siblings.
“Although I felt his presence that day and I was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him,” Anna said. “I could feel my emotions taking over after the ceremony when it was time to take pictures… They turned out beautiful and thanks to my amazing photographer she was able to get some special edits done. I needed this picture more than she or anyone could ever know. THIS is my family. And we will be together again.”
The wedding photo editing that Angel did quickly caught the attention of the social media world after Anna shared the picture with some beautiful words explaining the story. At the time of this writing the picture had received more than 11,000 ‘likes’ and 1,000 comments, which makes sense considering professional photographs were twice as likely as user-generated photographs to be shared, according to ratings given by people in the study.
If the story wasn’t cool enough already, virtually all of the photos Angel snapped that day also shared another quality. A strange, bright yellow spot that seemed to follow Anna around the different poses. When Angel mentioned the light, which she described as ‘unreal’, Anna simply said: “I told you my baby would show up.”
